Vibratory welding is a friction welding process during which the parts to be welded rub together under pressure until the friction and shear heat generated on the contact surfaces reaches a fully molten state. When the set weld depth is reached, the relative motion stops and the weld is cooled and solidified in the holding pressure phase.
